Tramell Tillman’s outie is grateful for his mother.
Because the Severance actor gained gold on the 2025 Emmy Awards—hosted by comic Nate Bargatze on the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles Sept. 14—he started a speech with a quote from his mother, who appeared on from the viewers with satisfaction.
“‘You keep in mind what you wish to keep in mind,’” Tramell quoted from the stage. “‘You find time for what you wish to find time for. Do the work, present up, and most significantly, for the love of God, do not embarrass me in public.’”
The actor—who made historical past as the primary Black man to win for Excellent Supporting Actor in a Drama Sequence—cheekily added, “My first appearing coach was powerful, y’all. However all nice moms are.”
After the viewers’s laughter died down, the digicam panned to the 40-year-old’s mother, who held her hand to her chest and watched him tearfully.
“Mama, you had been there for me when nobody else was and nobody else would present up,” Tramell continued. “Your loving kindness stays with me, and that is for you.”
