The beforehand introduced London revival of Clifford Odets’ basic Golden Boy starring Josh O’Connor has rounded out its forged and launched a trailer for the manufacturing arriving this September.
Becoming a member of the Disclosure Day actor (who will play Golden Boy‘s lead character Joe Bonaparte) are Jason Barnett (Bridgerton), Richard Fleeshman (Firm), David Ganly (The Crown), Patrick Martins (Emma), Daniel Mays (Line of Responsibility), Oliver Ryan (Dune), Hayley Squires (All My Sons), Stanley Townsend (Andor), Zubin Varla (Tammy Faye) and Nicholas Woodeson (Skyfall).
The revival at London’s Almeida Theatre will probably be directed by Olivier Award winner Sam Yates (whose latest Vanya starring Andrew Scott obtained each London and Off Broadway stagings) begins previews Wednesday, September 9, opens Tuesday, September 15 and runs till Saturday, October 31.

The synopsis: “Thirties New York, on the peak of the Melancholy. Joe Bonaparte is a gifted younger violinist with extraordinary expertise and a future in music, till an opportunity at fame and fortune lures him into the brutal world {of professional} boxing. Pressured by a ruthless supervisor, tempted by a forbidden love, and certain by the expectations of his Italian-American household, Joe is a younger man torn between the seductive promise of the American Dream and the quiet honor of an honest life. He should confront what he’s prepared to sacrifice, who he’s prepared to grow to be, and easy methods to discover his place in a world that calls for he select a aspect.”
No phrase but on whether or not the revival has a Broadway switch in its future. The final time Golden Boy was staged on Broadway was in 2012 in a Lincoln Heart Theater manufacturing directed by Bartlett Sher and starring Seth Numrich as Joe Bonaparte, in addition to Yvonne Strahovski, Tony Shalhoub and Danny Burstein.
Odets positively will probably be represented on Broadway this season although: The playwright’s Awake and Sing! is ready for a Manhattan Theatre Membership revival in January 2027, with a forged together with Burstein, Jessica Hecht and Jeremy Shamos.
