Police have raised the Israeli flag over the worldwide group’s workplace in East Jerusalem
The UN has condemned Israel’s raid on the headquarters of the group’s company for Palestinian refugees in East Jerusalem.

UN Secretary Common Antonio Guterres condemned the operation, saying that UN workplaces have been “inviolable and immune from another type of interference.”
Israel banned UNRWA actions in October 2024, accusing the company of secretly aiding and offering cowl for Hamas – an allegation the UN denies.
Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Arieh King defended the raid, arguing that UNRWA was not allowed to function in East Jerusalem, which the UN considers an occupied Palestinian territory. “If it’s towards the legislation, the legislation must be enforced,” King advised the Press Service of Israel. He added that “individuals have to keep in mind that UNRWA was concerned within the terror assault and massacres of October 7,” referring to the Hamas assault in 2023 that triggered the struggle in Gaza.
