Sony Music Leisure‘s RCA Data has introduced the relaunch of JIVE Data as a frontline standalone label, with former UnitedMasters executives Mike Weiss and David Melhado set to function co-Presidents.
The British-American label, which was based in 1981 by Clive Calder and led for over 25 years by Barry Weiss, turned a part of Sony Music in 2004 and the RCA Music Group in 2008.
JIVE has been residence to artists equivalent to A Tribe Known as Quest, Aaliyah, Backstreet Boys, Usher, and Outkast, in addition to acts together with Justin Timberlake, P!NK, Chris Brown, *NSYNC, and Britney Spears, who stay a part of the RCA roster.

DAVID MELHADO
Returning with “a mission to honor its legacy whereas reimagining it for right now’s music panorama”, the revived label will give attention to new signings throughout all genres.

Praising their “holistic artist improvement method”, RCA references the “unimaginable success” Weiss and Melhado loved at indie artist companies and distribution platform UnitedMasters, with acts equivalent to Brent Faiyaz, BigXthaPlug, Floyymenor, NLE Choppa, Ekkstacy, Anycia and Sarz.
