When speaking recently about Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics, Skip Bayless made it clear that Tatum’s supporting case is his biggest asset.
On the “Pat Bev Pod”, Bayless said it was Jaylen Brown, not Tatum, who is really powering the Celtics.
However, Brown will never be crowned MVP because Tatum stands in his way and is the bigger name.

Bayless said that Brown “took over” in the playoffs and was the team’s most important player.
Many people agree with that, which is why he was named Eastern Conference Finals MVP and Finals MVP.
For some, Brown is clearly the more important player for the Celtics, but it’s Tatum who gets the most attention.
He is seen as the team’s largest star and central franchise figure.
Bayless thinks the Celtics are successful because they have “two superstars” who “barely, sort of make peace with each other.”
At times, it is hard to see who is the more important star for Boston, and Tatum and Brown clearly both contribute a lot.
The upcoming season will be a crucial one for Tatum.
If he plays even better, he could be in the conversation for MVP, and comments like this one from Bayless will fade.
But there is also a chance that Brown will keep playing like a superstar and more and more people will criticize Tatum.
This isn’t the first time an NBA team has been led by two megastars but few duos have gained as much attention as Tatum and Brown.
