The days are dwindling until Donald Trump is inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States. In the meanwhile, more details have been shared about his plans for mass deportation and birthright citizenship. But how realistic are they?

Well, The Shade Room’s Correspondent A.B. Burns-Tucker is breaking it all down and sharing some answers on ‘TSR Newz.’

More On Donald Trump’s Plans For Mass Deportation & Birthright Citizenship

According to Burns-Tucker, during Trump’s initial term as president, his administration reportedly deported around 1.5 million people. In the midst, thousands of children were separated from their parents at the U.S./Mexico border.

Furthermore, as the president-elect awaits his reentry into office, he’s shared how he plans to inflate those figures in his second term.

“…Calling for a national emergency, and [sending out] the military for immigration enforcement, invoking the Insurrection Act of 1807 to bypass legal hurdles, and strengthening the Department of Defenses role in operations,” Burns-Tucker explained.

Are The President-Elect’s Plans Realistic? Or Just Rhetoric?

It has been reported that Trump’s focus will be on deporting immigrants who are “committing crime” in the country. Burns-Tucker noted that convicted immigrants are already scheduled to be deported to their home country once they complete their sentence. However, Trump may break new ground as he and his team are putting together a list of countries that will accept deportees if they’re not taken back by their native land.

“The list of potential places these people may be sent back to include countries such as Turks and Caicos, Panama, and the Bahamas,” Burns-Tucker explained.

Scroll above to watch as A. B. Burns-Tucker recalls the outcome of mass deportation efforts in previous presidential administrations. Additionally, the host details some of the reactions Trump’s deportation plans have reportedly received thus far. Lastly, Burns-Tucker shares how longtime residents of the U.S. could face deportation through inadequate legal checks and how Trump’s efforts can usher in strict state laws that yield a greater impact on deportation.
