The Paris Olympics are officially complete. Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.
The International Olympic Committee announced Sunday that American gymnast Jordan Chiles must return her bronze medal after it was deemed her coach’s score appeal was filed four seconds too late. Romania’s Ana Barbosu is now the official third-place finisher with Chiles in fifth. Chiles is the first athlete to be stripped of an Olympic medal due to a judging error. All other cases were for doping or rule-breaking.
Team USA men’s water polo needed a flawless shootout performance to defeat Hungary 11-8 for the bronze medal on Sunday. Serbia defeated Croatia 13-11 for the gold.
