Rating: 3/5
“Odela 2” is a supernatural thriller that attempts to blend elements of horror, divine intervention, and a touch of social commentary. Directed by Ashok Teja and written by Sampath Nandi, the film is a sequel to the 2022 crime thriller “Odela Railway Station.” The movie stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Hebah Patel, and Vasishta N. Simha in lead roles, with a supporting cast that includes Yuva, Naga Mahesh, Vamsi, Gagan Vihari, Surender Reddy, Bhupal, and Pooja Reddy.
The narrative of “Odela 2” revolves around the fictional village of Odela, steeped in rich cultural heritage and age-old traditions. The story follows Shiva Shakti’s pursuit to attain divine darshan of Lord Shiva by chanting “Om Namah Shivaya” 10 crore times. Meanwhile, the village is haunted by the evil spirit of Tirupati, a man who was sealed away by the villagers after committing heinous crimes. The conflict escalates as the spirit returns, seeking vengeance and threatening the village’s peace.
Tamannaah Bhatia delivers a decent performance as Shiva Shakti, though her character’s screen presence feels lacking for such a powerful role. Vasishta Simha is committed in his role, which remains largely unchanged throughout the film. Hebah Patel, reprising her role from the first film, has a limited appearance and fails to make a significant impact.
The film’s cinematography by Soundararajan and music by B. Ajaneesh Loknath are notable, adding to the film’s emotional and supernatural atmosphere. However, the movie struggles with a predictable storyline, underdeveloped characters, and flat execution. The reliance on the sequel factor, Hindutva angle, and supernatural elements fails to create a compelling narrative, making the film feel tiring and repetitive at times.
“Odela 2” is a decent timepass with fresh faces and an unconventional plot. It’s a lighthearted entertainer that, while not a cinematic masterpiece, provides a fun escape for audiences looking for a good laugh and engaging performances.

“Odela 2” has a quirky premise and a few genuinely amusing moments, but it struggles under the weight of its chaotic storytelling and over-the-top characters. The film follows Snow White, whose kisses lead women to marry others, as he navigates a comedy of errors filled with hilarious situations. However, the execution is marred by poor writing and direction, making the humor feel forced and the narrative disjointed.

“Odela 2” strives to be a fun, light-hearted romantic comedy with a quirky twist, but its execution is marred by poor writing and direction. The film struggles to find its identity, oscillating between being a slapstick comedy and a romantic drama without finding a comfortable balance between the two. The humor is mostly forced and rarely lands effectively, making the experience feel tedious instead of entertaining.

“Odela 2” is a must-watch for fans of romantic comedies and lighthearted entertainers. While the film is not a cinematic masterpiece, it is far better than some highly promoted projects. The story is fresh, performances are engaging, and the songs are well-placed, making the film an enjoyable watch. The film introduces three new lead actors who deliver commendable performances, making it a worthwhile experience.
4. Hindustan Times
Rating: 0.5/5
“Odela 2” review: Forced humor and bad acting do this film no favors, which has few redeeming qualities. The story revolves around Snow White, whose kisses lead women to marry others, but the execution is a royal mess with random characters and subplots that fail to engage the audience. The humor relies on outdated tropes and body-shaming, making it feel tedious and unfunny.
