I LOVE red lights. You may have read about it here and here in the past.
Here’s the thing about red light therapy, it’s a beauty treatment, sure, but it’s not just a beauty treatment. The potential benefits of red and near infrared light therapy go beyond just looking good. Red lights can help you feel good too. And they help me wind down big time.
In this post we’ll go over what red light therapy is, the INSANE benefits, and my favorite products and devices. Let’s get into it.
What Is Red Light Therapy?
Red light therapy is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that uses red or near-infrared light to stimulate the cells. Our skin absorbs the light through photosensitive molecules. This activates the mitochondria, boosting cell efficiency.

The Benefits of Red Light Therapy

Lauryn’s Favorite Red Light Therapy Devices
LightStim
You can’t go wrong with any of these products. I have the panel, the handheld device and the bed and they’re worth every penny, especially the panel. You can use it on your face and neck while you meditate to plump collagen, improve skin texture and reduce inflammation. Truly, I never miss a day. Plus it folds up in a way that’s perfect for travel. (The handheld device is great for travel too).
The bed is in our wellness room as the main focus. Ideally you want to do it everyday but 3-5 days a week is totally enough. It comes with an attachment for your face and you want to do 20 minutes facing up and 20 minutes facing down.
Be sure to listen to The HIM & HER Show episode with the founder Steve Marchesi and my friend/ facialist Staci Christie. They discuss why red light therapy is a must in your skin care routine, the anti-aging benefits and the transformative power of Lightstim’s technology.

Red Light Therapy Hat
This hat with red lights inside is magical for hair growth and revitalizes your scalp. Looks cool too.
Hatch Alarm
The Hatch alarm is perfect to wind down at night and wake up gently. I would rather walk on hot coals than be woken up by a phone alarm. This Hatch alarm winds you down with ambient, red light and wakes you up with a natural light and sound. Very good for your circadian rhythm. We’ve had one for years and I love it.
Red Book Light
The kids and I read books by this light every night, along with the Hatch light. In fact, we don’t have an regular light bulbs in our bedroom, so it’s either natural daylight or red light. Michael has 3! Everyone needs one of these. I’ve been using it to read real books at night instead of the Kindle and it helps me fall asleep. So much better for your eyes at night.
TRUST ME, the red lights help kids wind down too.

Salt Rock Night Light
In all of our bathrooms are salt rock night lights. They’re kind of tinted pink/red but not exactly red light. It gives your bathroom a really nice glow (so nice when having a eucalyptus shower) so you don’t have to turn on the artifical lights at night.
Salt lamps are said to be good for sore throats, muscle cramps and balancing your electrolytes. It improves air quality too. (More on the importance of air quality here).
Nightstand Lamp
I use this on my side of the bed (Michael’s side has the Hatch alarm). This lamp is perfect to read with at night, by myself, with my kids, with real books or with a Kindle. Like I said we don’t even have normal artificial lights in our bedroom or bathroom.
So those are all the red light products I use every single day and you can shop them all here. You’ll notice a big difference in your mood and the way you wind down at night. If I was to recommend one thing to start that’s easy, it would be the Hatch alarm, and then salt rock night lights.
