The New England Patriots might be in trouble up front along the offensive line.
According to insider Ari Meirov (via MassLive’s Mark Daniels), longtime center David Andrews is dealing with a very significant shoulder injury.
If the 32-year-old cannot play through it, he may need surgery which would then be season-ending.
A decision has not been made yet on what Andrews and the team will do.

Andrews is one of the few pieces, either on the coaching staff or on the field, left over from the team’s dynasty.
A two-time Super Bowl champion, Andrews has started 121 out of the 124 games that he has played in over the last nine seasons.
The Patriots are already dealing with a semi-rebuild after they drafted rookie quarterback Drake Maye with the No. 3 overall draft pick in April’s NFL Draft.
Of course, veteran Jacoby Brissett is still the team’s current starter.
Losing Andrews would complicate the situation in an immense way considering how experienced he is.
Currently sitting at a record of 1-3, the Pats do have some winnable games on their schedule coming up with the likes of the 1-3 Miami Dolphins, the winless Jacksonville Jaguars, and the 1-3 Tennessee Titans.
But if David Andrews is not able to suit up, that might be all she wrote for the season.
That is how important he is to this Patriots offense and this team.
It doesn’t matter who is playing quarterback if the best possible protection is not available, and it doesn’t get much better than the former undrafted center.
