Plot:
When a highway building crew begins digging in the vast Arizona desert, the local police find themselves with several grisly murders. In these bizarre killings, the victims have had their bones removed by a means that even the medical community can’t explain! Unwittingly, the crew has unleashed an ancient Native American spirit, the Bone Eater, who is exacting revenge…
Reviews:
“From displaying the monster in the opening minutes to it randomly attacking with little rhyme or reason every few minutes to hitting all the story beats right on cue to the cavalcade of stock characters and situations typical of Sci-Fi films, it’s practically a clinic in how to make and construct a Sci-Fi Channel original movie. I just wish they’d bother constructing better movies.” Dread Central
” …fans of truly bad movies will love Bone Eater. On a related quality, the last ten minutes are excruciatingly bad. It’s amazing to see how far Bruce Boxleitner‘s career must have fallen for him to be willing to keep a straight face performing in this film’s supposed climactic battle.” DVD Talk
” …as bad as all that was, and it was bad, the movie is hard to turn away from because it is oddly watchable. Wynorski paces this crap reasonably well, the production values are relatively high, aside from Skeletor over there, and Gil Gerard is in it. Yes, that’s not a lot to recommend in a movie and I certainly wouldn’t advise you to rent this just see Gil Gerard once again, but that’s all I got.” Film Critics United
“The final showdown with the Bone Eater may be a little underwhelming but then Boxleitner’s not a young man anymore and the budget doesn’t really stretch to stunt doubles so you have to take what you can get. All in all, though, Bone Eater is passably entertaining. The Bone Eater monster is a fun if cheaply realised monster and Boxleitner’s always watchable as the noble hero.” 5 out of 10, What the Craggus Saw
