Season-opening seven-game homestand continues for UNLV men’s basketball with 7 p.m. game at Thomas & Mack Center
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men’s basketball team will continue its season-opening seven-game homestand on Tuesday, Nov. 13 vs. UC Riverside at 7 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Tuesday will also mark the debut of the new Rebellion Student Lounge. Set up in an area of the arena’s concourse, the lounge will open at 4 p.m. and provide current UNLV students a place to come together between the end of classes and the start of the game. It features free food, soft drinks and popcorn, TVs with live sporting events, and video game stations.
Tickets to Tuesday’s game may be purchased at UNLVtickets.com, by calling 702-739-FANS (3267) or by visiting the Thomas & Mack Center Box Office. Season tickets, group tickets and a five-game plan are also available.
The 2018-19 season marks the third under head coach Marvin Menzies for the Runnin’ Rebels. UNLV returns seven student-athletes who saw action last season, which is the most for the program from the previous season in seven years. This year’s team adds two transfer redshirts and six freshmen.
Last year, UNLV won 20 games for the first time in four years. It also marked a nine-game improvement in the win column from the previous season.
The Runnin’ Rebels are coming off a 61-50 loss in their season opener on Saturday. Senior forward Shakur Juiston had 12 points and seven rebounds, while sophomore forward Mbacke Diong blocked a career-high five shots.
UC Riverside comes to town having lost their first two games of the season (72-59 at Oregon State, 71-64 at Portland State).
Tuesday’s game will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network/UNLVRebels.com with Tony Cordasco and Marcus Bowman calling the action. Jon Sandler, former Runnin’ Rebel Robert Smith, and Steve Cofield (sideline reporter) will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1100 AM and online via the UNLV Gameday App and TuneIn (link at UNLVRebels.com).
