2018-19 campaign to begin with Military Appreciation Night against Loyola Marymount at 7 p.m.

LAS VEGAS ( – The UNLV men’s basketball team will open the regular season Saturday, Nov. 10 vs. Loyola Marymount at 7 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The first 500 fans will receive a free “Home of the Brave” UNLV T-shirt as part of Military Appreciation Night and the first 2,000 will receive a free “Be A Rebel” PopSocket courtesy of the Southern Nevada Water Authority. There will also be a free student pregame tailgate outside on the plaza. Tickets to the season opener are on sale now. The 2018-19 season marks the third under head coach Marvin Menzies for the Runnin’ Rebels. UNLV returns seven student-athletes who saw action last season, which is the most for the program from the previous season in seven years. This year’s team adds two transfer redshirts and six freshmen.

Last year, UNLV won 20 games for the first time in four years. It also marked a nine-game improvement in the win column from the previous season. The 2018-19 Runnin’ Rebels will be led by seniors Shakur Juiston, a second-team All-Mountain West honoree in 2017-18, Noah Robotham, a Las Vegan who transferred from Akron, and Kris Clyburn, who is in his third year at UNLV.

Loyola Marymount has started the season 1-0, recording a 75-43 win over Westcliff on Tuesday. This will mark the first meeting between UNLV and LMU since 2005.

Saturday’s game will be televised by AT&T SportsNet with Drew Goodman, Dave Bollwinkel and Jenny Cavnar (sideline reporter) calling the action.
