Senior Mackenzie Raim is the MW Women’s Golfer of the Week after winning her third career tournament

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women’s golf senior Mackenzie Raim has been named the Mountain West Women’s Golfer of the week, the conference office announced Wednesday. This is the first weekly league honor for Raim this season and is the second in her Rebel career.

The Palm Desert, California, native captured medalist honors at the Jackrabbit Invitational in Las Vegas this week, marking her first tournament win of her senior campaign and the third in her career. Raim carded her best three-round and single-round scores of the year, shooting a 3-under 69 in round three and a 4-under 212 for the tournament. Overall, Raim shot two rounds under par and one just over it with a 73, while her final round of 69 was just one of four rounds under 70 in the entire field.

Raim’s performance helped the Rebels earn the team title as well – their second tournament victory in the last three weeks.

Raim previously earned the Mountain West nod as a junior a year ago after winning the prestigious Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in February of 2017.

The Rebels will have a weekend off before returning to action March 23-25 at the Ping/ASU Invitational in Tempe, Arizona.
