HOUSTON, Texas (UNLVRebels.com) – Rain in the Houston area has forced the cancellation of UNLV softball’s final game at the Houston Invitational. The Rebels were set to play UTSA for a second time this weekend at 11:30 a.m. CT Sunday morning, but heavy rain made the conditions unsafe. UNLV beat UTSA in a 6-5 comeback win after scoring three runs in the top of the seventh on Friday night at Cougar Softball Stadium.
The Scarlet and Gray went 3-1 on the weekend to move to 11-4 on the year – its best start since 2007.
UP NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV will be on the road again next weekend as they head to Phoenix for the Grand Canyon Lopes Up Classic. The Rebels will play five games from Friday to Sunday, taking on South Dakota, Princeton, Valparaiso twice and tournament host Grand Canyon.
