2018 Was Truly a Year of Transformation. Besides the activities which are better left unsaid, 2018 started off with partying and many other hedonistic priorities. In fact, during the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo we were all partying with Ron Jeremy. The next few months were spent working and then gambling in the hopes of filling a void.
Last Spring, the Electronic Dance Community took a hard hit when lost DJ Avicii who produced many hit songs about the love we should all share with each other. Avicii was unable to fill the void in his life which brought on his loss of life. Fortunately, we can always remember him through his heartfelt hits such as ‘Hey Brother’, ‘Waiting For Love’, and ‘Without You’. In May 2018, Vegas welcomed our annual Electric Daisy Carnival, which could not have come soon enough. EDC week was incredible and personally reminded me of the person whom I had forgotten and the love that is possible in this world. EDC re-ignited my passion for music, life, and the people in our community! Words are not able to describe the love which I felt while under the electric sky during those summer nights. I truly felt I had now experienced the full spectrum of humanity, from the lowest low (sitting in CCCD back in 2013) to the highest high (dancing under the stars with hundreds of thousands of like minded people whom all believe in Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect). I believe the absolute best night of this year was the Friday that we kicked off EDC weekend and the Golden Knights won against the L.A. Kings. Our Golden Knights truly lifted up our community at a time when we needed it the most!
While driving for Uber during the first half of 2018 and spending over 40 hours a week in my car, I had the opportunity to discover all of the different ethnicities and cultures which make up our community and our world. I also found an app named Spotify which would help transform my view of Vegas and my life! With the music as inspiration, I started developing music playlists which I could easily select for different cultured passengers. These Spotify playlists led to developing transportation themes which are inspired by a combination of different resorts, cultures, and tastes in music which all help produce experiences available only in Las Vegas.
Unfortunately in July, I was knocked off of the Driver platform which surprised me beyond belief since I had numerous good ratings and reviews. Later, I found out that they had a new CEO who was much more strict on the background checking process. As you probably know, this led me to being very depressed over the next several weeks. In this time, I went back to promoting strip clubs and also drinking while trying to fill the void which had returned. I do wish that I could return to being a paid driver but I am also a believer in that everything happens for a reason. Driving provided the time away from the strip, provided opportunities to have meaningful conversations with my passengers, and provided the opportunity to discover new music and cultures leading me to my purpose. Through Spotify I also discovered podcasts which enlightened me to the creative process of creative heart felt entrepreneurs. Through these podcasts, I have discovered more about myself and have rebuilt the strength to go after a new dream, one which is aligned with my true authentic self.
While I do wish that I had earned A LOT more money in 2018, I earned something that no amount of money in the world could ever buy, much needed self discovery. Today, I am into self discovery again, drinking less and have not been wasted in a strip club in almost a year. While there is still a long road ahead of me and many obstacles to be overcome, I can honestly say that I am well on the way to true happiness, which is what the definition of success should be for everyone.
I want to thank Mark Satorre for helping me accomplish my goal for 2018, starting my ‘Nocturnal Vegas’ blog. I want to thank you all for continuing to read my ‘Nocturnal Vegas’ blogs. However, time has come for my priorities to transform from self to community. With this transformation, I have put ‘Nocturnal Vegas’ LLC, Trademark, Domain, etc. up for sale and once successfully sold, the $ will provide the breathing room to grow ‘Vegas Experience Creators’. With your help in getting the word out, 2019 will be the year that ‘Vegas Experience Creators’ will create human, face to face, connections which in turn will strengthen our community and give others the green light for creating their dreams!
In 2019, I will:
1) Become a better writer while producing many more blogs here on Vegas Valley News
2) Start the ‘Vegas Experience Creators’ podcast
3) Start ‘Vegas Creator Meetups’ in which we will all come together and help each other grow as people and as a community
Whether you call them Resolutions, Dreams, Hopes, or Goals I hope you have selected a few to accomplish in 2019. If you would like help with anything, please know that I am always here to help however I can.
