Super Benji and Tyler Robinson Foundation Families cheer on the Los Angeles Dodgers thanks to Youth Cancer Baseball Tour

LAS VEGAS (Aug. 14, 2019) –The Tyler Robinson Foundation (TRF) and Youth Cancer Baseball Tour took four families to cheer on the Los Angeles Dodgers as the team competed against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday, Aug. 9. Joining several families from the Los Angeles area, the Sanchez family and their caped hero “Super Benji” also attended the game, traveling from Las Vegas to root on his favorite team.
A lifelong baseball fan, Benji Sanchez, who is also known by the moniker “Super Benji,” was diagnosed with brain cancer at just nine months old. He threw out the first pitch at a Dodgers game two years ago when he celebrated his remission, however he is now back in superhero mode battling thyroid cancer.
Many of the families in attendance were from the Los Angeles area and their children receive treatment at UCLA Children’s Hospital, one of TRF’s more than 50 partner hospitals around the world. TRF, the nonprofit organization of the GRAMMY Award-winning Imagine Dragons, has raised more than $7.5 million to support families battling childhood cancer by providing grants to offset the many unseen costs associated with treatment. More than 1,000 families have benefited from TRF support. The Foundation continues to grow its efforts for families through a number of awareness and fundraising initiatives.
Each year, Youth Cancer Baseball Tour raises funds to provide children with cancer and their families the opportunity to experience a Major League Baseball (MLB) game at one of the 30 major league ballparks across the country. Since starting the organization in 2010, Youth Cancer Baseball Tour has taken more than 500 kids and families to MLB games. This once-in-a-lifetime experience ties to TRF’s mission to support families, not just financially, but emotionally as they cope with their child’s diagnosis.

About The Tyler Robinson Foundation
The Tyler Robinson Foundation (TRF) helps strengthen families financially and emotionally as they cope with the tragedy of a pediatric cancer diagnosis by providing grants specifically to offset out-of-pocket life expenses. TRF is the nonprofit organization of the Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum selling band Imagine Dragons. TRF meets a critical need in communities across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Each year, one in 285 children are diagnosed with cancer. While many pediatric cancer organizations focus on growing awareness and support for families with the physical and emotional toll of a diagnosis, the huge financial hardship cancer treatment places on families is rarely discussed. More than 85-percent of every dollar TRF raises goes right to families in need. For more information visit
