L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon at MGM Grand to host progressive wagyu tasting menu for two-night special engagement

LAS VEGAS (April 8, 2019) – Global sensation WAGYUMAFIA will bring an exclusive, all-Wagyu Omakase-style pop-up dining experience featuring Japan’s finest Ozaki Beef toMGM Grand Las Vegas May 10-11. Esteemed WAGYUMAFIA Chef and Co-Founder Hisato Hamada will host an exclusive event at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon sure to entertain guests, turning the French fine-dining destination into the world’s most elite butcher counter for an epicurean adventure.

Tickets are priced at $450 per person, all-inclusive, and are available on MGM Grand’s event page or by calling the restaurant at 702-891-7351. Seatings will be at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on both nights.

Guests will be immersed in a culinary engagement that honors the deeply rooted history and tradition of Japan’s Wagyu farmers. The interactive dinner will highlight a selection of coveted Ozaki Beef carved, prepared and served by Hamada before spectators’ eyes, a rarity typically reserved for WAGYUMAFIA’s members-only restaurants. Mirroring the signature style performed at the WAGYUMAFIA Butcher’s Kitchen in Tokyo, the Wagyu-expert will create the multi-course meal in L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon’s open kitchen, where he will interact with diners while expertly crafting each course.

The tasting menu will showcase the finest selection of immaculately marbled, melt-in your-mouth Ozaki Beef, sourced exclusively from elite Wagyu farmer Mr. Muneharu Ozaki in Miyazaki Prefecture. The single-origin cattle, raised with rigid, hands-on ranching practices, yields a clean, sweet taste with a sublime texture. The tender meat requires skillful culinary preparation, resulting in simply executed dishes with complex flavors, ideal for connoisseurs.

“We are excited to fuse two luxury culinary brands – WAGYUMAFIA and L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon – for an unforgettable evening,” said MGM Resorts International Senior Vice President of Food & Beverage Strategy Ari Kastrati. “MGM Resorts and MGM Grand are honored to host this prestigious event, creating a once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience that is fun, educational and inspiring.”

Highlights of the evening’s menu include:

  • Tricolor Sushi – Delicate umami and savory flavors of uni and caviar complement the sweetness of the beef sashimi in the deluxe sushi, inspired by the magnificent quality of its ingredients.
  • Wagyu Goyza – This WAGYUMAFIA signature is a hearty mixture of four different cuts of Ozaki Beef served with minced vegetables seared for a satisfying crunch.
  • Wagyu Tsukemen ‘Mashi No Mashi Hong Kong’ Style – Served for the first time outside of WAGYUMAFIA’s new ramen restaurant in Hong Kong, Mashi no Mashi, this unique ramen is made with pure Wagyu bone broth that has been brewed for over 24-hours and includes a variety of exquisite toppings.
  • The Original Chateaubriand Cutlet Sandwich – This world-famous sandwich is comprised of thick-slice Ozaki chateaubriand steak – the most expensive cut of beef – breaded, fried, then sandwiched between two slices of toasted Japanese milk bread made even more delicious with a special secret sauce.

Known for their acclaimed cuts, WAGYUMAFIA continues to stir intrigue and surprise with top food critics and international gourmands. For more information, visit WAGYUMAFIAonline.

WAGYUMAFIA was founded by self-taught chef-turned-wagyu experts Hisato Hamada and entrepreneur Takafumi Horie. Originally in the beef export business, the brand was created following a series of private dinner pop-ups around the theme of wagyu. The duo later launched their first members-only restaurant, The WAGYUMAFIA Progressive Kaiseki, in Tokyo in 2016. They currently operate restaurants internationally, with three member’s only restaurants in Tokyo along with the iconic Cutlet Sandwich shop in Tokyo. The first overseas outlet, WAGYUMAFIA Hong Kong, opened winter 2018 with Manila coming soon in 2019.
