LAS VEGAS (March 10, 2020) – The kraut-down is on! Tuesday, March 24 is International Sauerkraut Day and Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas is the ultimate destination to delight in the fermented cabbage. In honor of the occasion, the beer hall and garden will offer up an assortment of Bavarian dishes, in which sauerkraut is the star, while highlighting its fabled history and health benefits.
For one day only, guests can enjoy delectable sauerkraut-themed dishes including Weissbier Sauerkraut Suppe, homemade wheat-beer sauerkraut soup garnished with croutons; Sauerkraut Quiche, homemade quiche with sauerkraut, bacon, eggs, sour cream, Emmental cheese and chives on a salad bouquet; and, a Sauerkraut Platter, smoked pork loin, a jalapeno-cheddar brat and a Debreziner sausage on imported sauerkraut, served with mashed potatoes and horseradish mustard.
After 4 p.m., patrons can savor Frische Schweinshaxe, a crispy pork shank served with imported sauerkraut, a bread dumpling and HB dark beer sauce.
Available year-round, sauerkraut served at Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas is always imported direct from Germany, where it is a staple in Bavarian cuisine. With an extensive and rich history in many cultures from around the world, from ancient Rome to China, where its history has been traced back by more than 2,000 years, fermented cabbage has long been celebrated for its wide array of health benefits.
